Currant
Willow Crenshaw and Currant are from Batch #011. Willow Crenshaw hatched the night of April 27, 2020. I found her the morning of April 28. Later on that day Currant would hatch. There were two other goslings from this batch as well who were related to Currant. These two I did not keep. I did not intend to keep any geese from this batch but this was a problem batch. Willow was the second to hatch and she hatched with only one eye. Currant did not seem to be having any trouble
until a few days after he hatched and I finally noticed that something seemed wrong. He was constantly laying down and shivering even though the other geese his age were not. We spent lots of time cuddling him and he began to harden off outside. It took a while for him to grow but he finally did. The feathers took a week longer to really begin coming in but he has recovered. I believe that it was either that he did not get to the grit or he got chilled and stayed so to the point of it affecting him. I quickly found out that he was a male. I waited to sex Willow until she was two to three weeks old and was delighted to find out that she is a she.

Willow Crenshaw is shy but rather sweet. She has a long, slender neck and a long beak. She resembles her mother, Rocky Mountain Juniper, in many ways. Currant is also shy but has his sweet side as well. He and Willow have Chinese blood in them and may always be small.

    my name is Emily

I have twenty-eight geese. I hatch a bunch of goslings because I want a lot of people to have geese. I do not see them everywhere but I want to! The goslings are the sweetest baby birds I know! The adult males are proud and can be cranky but have their sweet moments while the females are shy and sweet all at the same time.
