WILLOW'S FLOCK

Redbud's story

Eastern Redbud

Redbud was a goose my original flock. I knew him as a gosling because of a unique expression he would give me when he looked at me. He was called Buddy when he was a gosling because he was sweet and liked to cuddle. Throughout my hatching I encountered certain geese that I could tell

whether they were a boy or a girl. He was one of the geese - I knew he was a boy. He is my favorite goose in the entire flock. He is not the type of gander who goes for one goose. Last year, he had three females. This year it looks like he is aiming for almost every female. In my case I want my ganders to get a few females each so they are all taken care of as I plan to have a lot of female geese.

Redbud meets many of the wishes I have for my breeding. He is the model for the traits because I like him so much. His knob is exactly what I want and his shape and size. He is also friendly towards me and every now and then when he is in the mood, he will walk up to me when I am sitting somewhere. That would be because he thinks I am a goose and he wants me to be one of his.

His whole name is Eastern Redbud after the tree which grows in Oklahoma. I thought it sounded good for him and usually when I see a name that I like for the goose it is the only thing that will work for it. He was no exception.

I hope Redbud will be around for a nice, long time. Wish him luck in his goose adventures!!

    my name is Emily

I have twenty-eight geese. I hatch a bunch of goslings because I want a lot of people to have geese. I do not see them everywhere but I want to! The goslings are the sweetest baby birds I know! The adult males are proud and can be cranky but have their sweet moments while the females are shy and sweet all at the same time.
